The Word export feature lets you download your rundown as a .docx file, perfect for sharing scripts, PA reads, or cue sheets with talent and production teams need a script focused hard copy.

We've added some helpful new features to this version:

  1. System will automatically lookup and select any column with 'script' in it

  2. Selected column will persist so you don't have to reconfigure and select the script column if you are doing multiple export versions.

  3. We only show content, if it exists. Meaning we automatically skip and don't show rows if they don't have script content.

How to open the Export to Word dialog

  1. Open the rundown show you want to export.

  2. Click the options menu (β‹―) in the top-right corner of the show.

  3. Select Export to Word from the dropdown.

Configure your export

The export dialog has two panels: a settings panel on the left and a live document preview on the right.

1. Choose your Script Column

Use the Script Column dropdown to select which column contains the main content for your export. Only rich text columns (like Script, Notes, or PA Read) appear in this list.

  • Rundown will automatically pre-select any column with "script" in its name.

  • Your selection is saved per-show, so it will be remembered next time you open the dialog.

  • Hidden columns are still available to select as the script column.

2. Choose Additional Information

Once a script column is selected, an Additional Information section appears below. Use the toggles to include or exclude other visible columns in the export.

  • Item # and Title are included by default.

  • Other visible columns (Start Time, Duration, Presenter, etc.) can be toggled on or off.

  • Additional columns appear as metadata beneath each row's header in the document.

3. Preview the document

The right panel shows a live preview of what your Word document will look like β€” including the show title, event name, generation date, and each row's content.

  • Rows that have no content in the selected script column are automatically skipped.

Export the document

Click Export to Word to download the .docx file. The file is named after your show title. If the export fails, a message will appear. Dismiss it and try again.

What the document includes

Each exported document contains:

  • Header: Show title, event name, and the date/time of export.

  • Row sections: Each row with script content is exported as a numbered section, with the row title as a heading, optional metadata (Start Time, Duration, etc.) beneath it, and the full rich text script content below that.

Tips

  • Only rows with content in the selected script column appear in the export, empty rows are excluded automatically.

  • Rich text formatting (bold, italic, text colors, etc) from the script column is preserved in the Word document.

  • Use the toggles to keep the document focused. for a clean teleprompter-style script, turn off all additional columns except Item # and Title.
