Over / Under Column

Learn how to add and use the Over/Under column type to track per-row timing variance during live show tracking.

The Over/Under column shows you how each row ran relative to its planned duration — live while tracking, and saved after each item completes. At a glance you can see which items ran long or short, row by row, without leaving the rundown.

This is also useful for post event reporting as a system of record for how a show went compared to its original plan. Share a guest pass link, or download a pdf after show ends.

Who can use it?

Only Admins and Show Callers can add or delete the Over/Under column. All crew members can see the column once it has been added and can reorder or hide it from personal views if needed.

Adding the Over/Under Column

  1. Click the + button in the rundown toolbar to open the Add Column dialog.

  2. Open the Column Type dropdown and select Over/Under.

  3. The title will auto-fill as Over/Under — you can rename it if needed.

  4. Click Add Column.

The column is added at a narrow width and will appear empty until rows have been tracked.

Note: Only one Over/Under column can exist per rundown. If one already exists, the option will appear disabled in the Column Type dropdown.

How It Works During Tracking

When Show Caller tracking is active, the Over/Under column automatically captures timing data for each row.

  • Live row: The currently tracked row shows a live-updating badge that counts up or down in real time as you go over or under the planned duration.

  • Completed rows: Once tracking advances to the next row (or stops), the actual duration is saved automatically. Each completed row shows a static badge.

  • Untracked rows: Cells are empty until the row has been tracked.

Reading the data

  • Red text with a + value (e.g. +00:45) — the row ran over its planned duration by that amount.

  • Green text with a − value (e.g. -00:12) — the row ran under its planned duration by that amount.

Hover over any badge to see a detail card showing:

  • Actual — the real time spent on that row

  • Planned — the row's set duration

  • Over / Under — the variance value

Clearing Over/Under Data

You can clear the saved actual duration from one or more rows if you need to reset timing data.

Single cell:

  1. Hover over the Over/Under cell.

  2. Click the (ellipsis) button that appears.

  3. Select Delete.

Multiple cells:

  1. Select multiple Over/Under cells (click + Shift-click).

  2. Press Delete or Backspace.

Notes

  • Over/Under data is included in PDF exports, and Guest Pass links.

  • Actual durations are saved automatically. No manual action needed after tracking.

  • If a row is partially tracked and tracking is resumed, the timer picks up from where it left off.

  • Clearing Over/Under data does not affect the row's planned duration or any other column.
