Locking a row prevents anyone from editing its content until it's unlocked. Use it to protect finalized cues, approved timing, or any row you don't want accidentally changed during a live show.

Who can lock and unlock rows?

Only users with Admin or Show Caller permissions can lock or unlock rows. Contributors and viewers will see the row but cannot edit it or remove the lock.

How to lock a row

  1. Right-click on the row number of the row you want to lock.

  2. Select Lock Row from the context menu.

You can also use the keyboard shortcut: ⌘ Shift L (Mac) or Ctrl + Shift + L (Windows) with the row selected.

How to unlock a row

  1. Right-click on the row number of the locked row.

  2. Select Unlock Row from the context menu.

The same keyboard shortcut toggles between lock and unlock.

What happens when a row is locked

  • A lock icon appears in the top-right corner of the item number cell, visible to all users.

  • Most cell content becomes read-only β€” clicking a locked cell shows an alert: "Row is locked. An admin or show caller must unlock it before it can be edited."

  • The row cannot be deleted while locked.

  • Notes columns remain editable on locked rows for all permission levels.

Notes

  • Locking applies to one row at a time the Lock Row option is not available when multiple rows are selected.
