Prompter View turns any rich text column in your rundown into a full-screen teleprompter. Useful for talent, floor managers, or anyone who needs to read content during a live show without the distraction of the full rundown grid.

We've introduced quite a few new features and improvements in this new Prompter view:

  • More reading indicator options and customization

  • Word Count / Estimated Read time calculations

  • Significantly improved performance & load speed

  • new mini map to quickly jump to other rows and search

  • Sticky Row Name in header

Opening Prompter View:

  1. Hover over the header of any rich text column (e.g. a Script or Notes column)

  2. Click the dropdown arrow that appears on the column header

  3. Select Open Prompter View from the menu

Prompter View opens in a new browser tab with the selected column pre-loaded. It is only available on rich text columns, not on Title, Number, or other column types.

Playback Controls:

The control bar at the bottom of the screen contains all playback and navigation controls.

Play / Pause: Starts or stops auto-scrolling. Shortcut: Space

Restart: Scrolls back to the top of the prompter

Speed: Drag the slider to set scroll speed. Positive values scroll down, negative values scroll up (reverse). Range is -20 to +20

Word Count / Read Time: Displays the total word count and estimated read time for the selected column based on 180 words per minute

Row Navigation: Opens a searchable list of all rows — click any row to jump directly to it. Shortcut: Left, Right Arrows

Fullscreen: Toggles the browser into fullscreen mode

Settings: Opens the Appearance Settings panel

Hide Controls: Collapses the footer bar — a small button appears in the bottom-right corner to bring it back

Keyboard Shortcuts:

  • Space — Play / Pause auto-scroll

  • ↑ Arrow — Increase scroll speed

  • ↓ Arrow — Decrease scroll speed

  • → Arrow - Navigate to the next row

  • ← Arrow - Navigate to the previous row

Appearance Settings:

Click the Settings icon in the footer to open the Appearance Settings panel. Settings are grouped into four sections:

Text Appearance

  • Font Size — Adjust text size from 12px to 120px

  • Line Spacing — Adjust spacing between lines from 1.0 to 3.0

  • Uppercase Text — Forces all text to display in uppercase

Layout

  • Margin — Adjusts the horizontal padding on the left and right of the text (0–200px)

  • Mirror Text — Flips the text horizontally, useful for physical teleprompter hardware setups

  • Reading Indicator — Enables a red arrow or horizontal line overlaid on the screen to mark your reading position. You can set the vertical position (10–90% from the top) and choose between arrow or line style

Display Options

  • Column — Switch which rich text column is displayed without leaving the prompter

  • Show Run Time Clock — Displays the item run time clock in the header

  • Show Time of Day Clock — Displays the current time of day in the header

  • Show Row Name — Displays a sticky label at the top of the page showing the current row's item name as you scroll

  • Hide Empty Rows — Only shows rows that have content in the selected column, skipping blank ones

Theme

  • Toggle between light and dark mode

Notes:

  • All appearance settings and playback preferences are saved. So duplicated rundowns and templates will persist.

  • Prompter View is independent of the main rundown window. You can have both open at the same time. Changes to the rundown content will reflect in the prompter automatically and in real time.

  • If no column is pre-selected when the prompter opens, you will be prompted to choose a column from a dropdown before any content is displayed.

  • This View is currently Read Only. Editing capabilities will be added soon.
