Timestamping and proofs of performance are integral parts to many shows, especially for sponsorship tracking and reporting. In sports for example, sponsor elements often need proof that they were run and when. In the past, you could always place a raw timestamp in any cell or in a designated timestamp column. With our new special timestamp column, you have a dedicated area to place timestamps that allows for better organization, notes, and powerful data for exporting. As an added bonus, you can also enable auto timestamp via tracking, so anytime a row is tracked, we’ll automatically drop a timestamp in that row for effortless reporting.

Here’s how to start placing and exporting timestamps

Step 1. Enable visibility on the timestamp column

Click on the dropdown arrow icon next to any column header, and then on “Show timestamp column.” The visibility of this column functions similar to timings in that it will be visible to all users, and can’t be enabled or disabled on a per-user basis.

Step 2. Add a timestamp

You can add a new timestamp by hovering over the timestamp cell and then clicking on the timestamp icon.

Step 3. Replacing & deleting existing timestamps

If there’s already a timestamp in the cell, you can replace it by hovering over the timestamp and clicking on the green icon at the upper right of the timestamp. Note that currently, only one timestamp can occupy each cell! You can also delete a timestamp by hovering over it and clicking on the red deletion icon.

Step 4. Enable auto timestamp via tracking (optional)

If you want timestamps to be recorded as soon as a row is tracked, you can enable this feature and whenever a row is tracked a timestamp will be placed. For rows that already have timestamps, this will overwrite the timestamp in that cell. If you have multiple show callers, the last show caller to track that row will record the timestamp. As a visual indicator, whenever this feature is active the icon in the header will turn blue.

Step 5. Export a timestamp report to Excel

Click on the dropdown arrow and then on “Export timestamp show report” to generate a timestamp report based on the timestamps in your show. A sample report will contain:

  • Event name
  • Event start date
  • Show name
  • Show date
  • Item number
  • Item name
  • User who placed the timestamp
  • The time of the timestamp
  • Date the timestamp was placed
  • Any notes on the timestamp
  • Start time of the item with the timestamp
  • Preset time of the item
  • Duration of the item

One great thing about the export is you can use Excel’s built in filters and sorting to narrow down your timestamps by who ran them. For example, you can create a filter on the Item column for “La Croix”, and it will filter down every time stamp associated with “La Croix” which you can then use to send to that sponsor!
